RPA (Robotic Process Automation) has finally come of age. After lots of promise and hype it appears that the technology has now gone completely mainstream.

The Covid 19 pandemic has caused many companies to start or accelerate their automation initiatives to reduce costs and make processes more efficient and streamlined. The added benefit of automation is less reliance on humans which should mean more robust company operations.

While the RPA market has been around for only about six years, there are already companies that have moved through the first wave of cost takeout automation as a strategy. They are now looking at the digital workforce to deliver new capabilities and services that were previously uneconomic or unthinkable such as managing and tracking vendors, collecting customer data during a customer interaction, or reviewing tax returns.
