Last week the CMA took an important step to develop its investigation powers and take advantage of its expanded role post Brexit. Hopefully we will see similar collaboration between the CMA and the European Commission in 2021.

The CMA to collaborate internationally
The Multilateral Mutual Assistance and Cooperation Framework for Competition Authorities (MMAC) was signed on 2 September 2020 by Andrea Coscelli, Chief Executive Officer of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and counterparts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States, marking a new chapter in inter-agency cooperation to address cross-border anti-competitive activity in an increasingly global economy.
