We were delighted to present at the Consumer Goods Forum Summit in Kyoto last week on the challenges facing consumer products companies in the current disrupted and uncertain environment. In our 4th annual AlixPartners Disruption Index, executives in this industry were one of only two groups to report higher disruption this year over last.

Executives find it increasingly difficult to know what to prioritize. Higher inflation, slowing growth, and shifting consumer behaviors are challenging traditional strategies and ways of operating.

In our research, however, we found that growth leaders are moving with urgency and confidence to respond to this environment. While only 26% of all consumer products companies are changing their business models today, 57% of growth leaders are already doing so.
