Revenue growth and margins stagnate in key areas

Median margins across consumer products sectors have frozen – or fallen in the case of Food & Beverage, Health & Beauty, and Apparel & Luxury – in the past four quarters. This scenario is more significant for top performers, too, with falls of between 2 and 11 percentage points, with the exception of Durables which remained static. Median year-on-year revenue growth has also stalled – and slumped in the case of Health & Beauty and Apparel & Luxury. Top-performing companies experienced a similar slowdown, most notably in Packaging, down 26% on the previous period.
