Thilo provides strategic and hands-on operational consulting to support clients around the globe in operational improvement programs—especially in the automotive and industrial goods sectors.

He is experienced in developing and implementing material and production cost reductions as well as plant performance improvements and turnarounds. Clients have benefited from Thilo’s management of key projects such as plant capacity rightsizings, plant and program profitability improvements, and inventory optimizations.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, he was an assistant to the Chief Operating Officer and Lean Expert at German machine-building company Lenze SE, which is specialized in automation technology.


Thilo has MBAs from ESAN Graduate School of Business in Lima, Peru, and HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Leipzig, Germany.

  • Led the profitability improvement for major programs of a global automotive tier 1 supplier; reducing material costs by 25% through technical and commercial levers and achieving 450mEUR lifetime savings.
  • Led the material cost reduction for a key program (in production) of a global tier 1 Automotive supplier, achieving 20% cost reduction and >50mEUR cost savings.
  • Developed and implemented a 15m€ p.a. operations cost reduction program for an African chemicals company, including capacity rightsizings and insourcing/outsourcing activities.
  • Developed and implemented an inventory reduction program for a global automotive tier 1 supplier, achieving inventory reductions of 30%.
  • Led several projects for plant improvements in North America, Europe and Asia, leading to increased profitability and delivery performances.
